David Edward Perry is a creativity savant with over thirty years of experience in the performing arts and education. His specialty is in devised theater tailored to different communities' specific needs.
Proving that laughter is serious business, Perry's education includes a Master of Science in Media, Medicine, and Health from Harvard Medical School and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a minor in Film from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Perry is a strong advocate for mental health. He is a state-certified peer support specialist. His experience as a teaching artist includes UAB Arts in Medicine, The Alabama School of Fine Arts, Red Mountain Theatre, The Alabama Theatre Alliance, and JBS Mental Health Authority.
Perry is a versatile performer with experience ranging from "Kenan and Kel" to Broadway musicals. In 2009, Perry received a nomination for a NAACP Theater Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Musical. Sketch comedy is one of Perry's long-time passions, showcasing his talents at the LA Festival of Sketch Comedy, and in multiple comedy groups including Birmingham's sketch comedy show, simply called PERRY.
